We’re now firmly into April, which means the NFL draft is right around the corner.
Teams spent March improving their rosters through free agency, and now the teams are waiting to select their favorite young prospects. The Atlanta Falcons will be one of the more interesting teams to watch once the draft gets going.
The team is slated to have the No. 15 pick after having a mediocre 8-9 season in 2024. There are several directions the team could go in the first round, but most mock drafts have the team adding to the defense.
Today, let’s identify three prospects who would be great fits in Atlanta with the team’s No. 15 pick.

Jalon Walker, LB, Georgia
If the Falcons want to add to the defense, Jalon Walker could be the best option.
Walker, who played his college ball just down the road at Georgia, is talented enough to be an off-ball backer and also contribute as a pass-rusher. The Falcons need help in both areas, making Walker a logical fit.
In 2024, Walker racked up 60 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks. The defender has the speed to hold his own in coverage and has the moves to get past tackles on the edge.
In Atlanta, Walker could immediately start and give the team a versatile weapon for the middle of the defense.

Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon
Sticking on defense, the Falcons would likely be thrilled to select Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon.
The Falcons parted ways with longtime defensive tackle Grady Jarrett this offseason, so there is space for a new disruptive presence on the interior. Harmon is not only a solid run-stuffer, but also added some pass-rush moves in 2024.
In 2024, Harmon collected 45 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and five sacks. The defender could immediately start in Atlanta next to offseason addition Morgan Fox and solid veteran David Onyemata.

Malaki Starks, DB, Georgia
We already mentioned Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker as a fit, but Walker’s teammate Malaki Starks could be one as well.
Starks is a do-it-all safety who can be a solid run defender and hold his own in coverage. The Georgia product has a relentless motor and has received high praise for his football IQ and leadership.
In 2024, Starks collected 77 tackles, four tackles for loss, one interception, and three pass deflections. In Atlanta, the Georgia product could start next to Jessie Bates III, giving the Falcons one of the most promising safety duos in the league.
