San Jose police have apprehended two men in their 40s from San Jose on charges of selling narcotics and operating an illegal gambling site out of a residence, as stated in a news release by the police department. The suspects were arrested and subsequently booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail. One of the individuals is being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on October 22 at 8:30 a.m. The whereabouts of the other suspect could not be immediately determined using the county’s inmate locator.
The arrests were made during an ongoing narcotics investigation by the METRO Unit Officers of the San Jose police. The officers discovered evidence of illicit narcotic sales originating from a house that was also running an illegal gambling operation in the 1400 block of Meadow Glen Way. After identifying the suspects, the officers obtained a search warrant for the premises.
On October 3, the officers executed the search warrant, leading to the discovery of several incriminating items. Among the seized items were a loaded, privately manufactured firearm lacking an identifiable serial number, a short-barreled shotgun, ammunition, methamphetamine, a significant amount of cash, seven large illegal gambling machines, and various other drug paraphernalia. It is worth noting that both suspects were prohibited from possessing firearms due to prior convictions.
The San Jose police are continuing their investigation into this case. The charges against the two men include narcotics sales and operating an illegal gambling site. The authorities are determined to bring those responsible for these illegal activities to justice.
