NFL Week 5 Predictions

Hey y’all, Sid Kalyani is back again with the predictions for week 5 of the NFL.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Atlanta Falcons

This has the potential to be a good matchup for Thursday night. Baker Mayfield and the Bucs are coming into this game after giving the Eagles the business in Philadelphia. They seem to be the better team after 4 weeks and I know the Falcons have shown signs of their potential with Kirk Cousins, but I think that Tampa has their system moving much more efficiently. I’m going 24-10 for the Buccaneers.

New York Jets vs. Minnesota Vikings

Our first matchup in London sees the Jets taking on the Vikings. After a disappointing performance against the Broncos last week, Aaron Rodgers and the Jets need to step it up against the best team, in my opinion, in the league. Sam Darnold has seemed the most comfortable he has been since being in the league, and I don’t think the Jets have enough on defense to stop the Vikings. I believe the Jets offense will have a bounce-back week, but I don’t think it will be enough. 27-17 for the Vikings.

Carolina Panthers vs. Chicago Bears

Chicago is looking to keep their momentum up from last week’s win against the Rams, where the Panthers have to get back on track after their loss to the Bengals. I don’t believe that Andy Dalton is going to be enough to turn this team around and the Bears are looking to give Caleb Williams more confidence. I believe this is going to be a tight matchup with the Bears winning 17-14.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Both of these teams are coming off big wins and are looking to take advantage in the AFC North. The Ravens showed their potential with Derrick Henry and the Bengals finally had their most complete game. This will be a close game and even with the game being in Paycor Stadium, I’m going to give it to the Ravens as they seem more complete in the past 2 weeks. 27-24 Ravens.

Miami Dolphins vs. New England Patriots

This game is between 2 of the most disappointing teams in the league so far. The Dolphins QB situation is going bad and there is no way that anyone on the roster will help them win this game. The Patriots have shown potential in their previous matchups and I believe that this game will help prove that. I’m going with a 20-10 win for the Patriots.

Cleveland Browns vs Washington Commanders

It looks like we have the front-runner for ROY in Jaden Daniels. His stats are amazing for the first 4 games and this Commanders team looks better than in previous seasons. Cleveland has an issue with their QB situation and I do not believe that will improve this week. In fact this might be a hot-seat situation for Deshaun Watson. With that, I’m going for a 30-13 win for the Commanders.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Seeing how the Colts played with Joe Flacco at the helm, I don’t see how they lost to the Jaguars. The Jaguars have not seen like themselves and Trevor Lawrence is not looking like himself. They need to figure it out because if they lose to the Colts, it might be time to look at the organizational structure of the team. With that said, the Colts are a more complete team, so I’m going for a 20-14 Colts win.

Buffalo Bills vs. Houston Texans

Both teams are looking solid this year, and we shall see Stefon Diggs against his former team. The Bills look good without Diggs but took a big hit last week against the Ravens. Even so they seemed more comfortable in the season compared to the Texans. This game will be the biggest task for the Texans to show their offensive potential, and I think they learn to mesh and pull out a close win against the Bills. 27-20 Texans.

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Denver Broncos

The Broncos showed up defensively against the Jets and pulled out a win on the road. Bo Nix didn’t look that comfortable but he was able to help lead the team to the only touchdown of the game. The Raiders have had an up-and-down season so far, but if Davante Adams does not play, this will be a tough game for them. I believe that the Broncos have much more confidence and much less drama, and will be able to get their first win at home with a 20-16 win.

Arizona Cardinals vs San Francisco 49ers

Another division matchup in week 5, and both these are looking for this win. The 49ers have been riddled with injuries, but have shown potential in their other players. The Cardinals have shown potential with Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison Jr., but there is not enough talent elsewhere to match up with the 49ers. This game should be a win for the 49ers as there will be questions if they lose this game at home. I’ve got a 35-21 win for the 49ers.

Green Bay Packers vs. Los Angeles Rams

Both these teams are looking for a win after disappointing losses last week. The Packers had a terrible start but were able to make the game close at the end. The Rams just didn’t look like themselves against the Bears. This game is important as it may show which team can still bring it back for the season. The Packers have shown more confidence in their games and I see them winning this game on a game-winning field goal. 23-20 Packers win.

New York Giants vs. Seattle Seahawks

The Giants have been able to be close in a majority of their matches but have not been able to win, but this game will not be close for them. The Seahawks have been much better than the Giants and this should be an easy win for them at home. I see this as a blowout 30-14 win for the Hawks.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Pittsburg Steelers

I would’ve thought that these team’s records were swapped by this time, but I’m not surprised. The Cowboys have not been consistent this week and with all the money they spent this offseason, it does not look good for them. The Steelers are looking good defensively as usual but the offense has shown some signs of promise even in their loss last week. I see the Steeler’s defense manhandling the Cowboys in a 28-14 win for the Steelers.

New Orleans Saints vs. Kansas City Chiefs

This game has the potential to be the game of the week as both teams have shown great things on both sides of the game. The Chiefs have been lackluster compared to previous seasons, but they have been able to show up and win their games. This will come down to which defense is better as both offenses have been a little slow the past 2 weeks. This will be a close game, but I have the Saints winning at home and giving the Chiefs their first loss of the season in a 27-23 win.

That’s all for this week. I’ll see y’all for next week’s predictions.
