Man Killed in Vehicular Homicide Incident in Brighton

Brighton, Colorado – The Brighton Police Department is currently investigating a tragic incident of vehicular homicide that occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning. The incident took place at approximately 2:45 a.m. on July 27, near the 4500 block of Southern Street in Brighton.

According to a news release from the police department, a 50-year-old man was struck by a Chevrolet Tahoe shortly after he had exited the vehicle. The driver of the Tahoe, identified as 25-year-old Ronnie Vigil, was subsequently arrested on charges of vehicular homicide and driving under the influence.

Vigil has since been released from the Adams County Jail after posting a $20,000 bond. A hearing regarding the charges in this case is scheduled for Tuesday, as indicated by court documents.

At this time, the identity of the victim has not been publicly disclosed.
