(RestaurantNews.com) Cooking has always been an act of love, not just the mere preparation of food. Nowadays it becomes art on a plate, something that combines creativity and culinary craft brought to perfection.
Diego Toscani, and Chef Ljubica Komlenic came up with the idea to turn the concept of food into solidarity with the “Chefs for life” movement, which organizes charity dinners for humanitarian purposes throughout Europe. So far, 9 events have been organized, 3 of them abroad with a total of 2000 guests and a total participation of over 200 chefs and pastry chefs, including: Iginio and Debora Massari, Bobo Cerea (three Michelin stars), Gennaro Esposito (Michelin Award 2020 Chef Mentor, two Michelin stars), Philippe Leveille,Franco Pepe, Giuliana Germiniasi, Beppe Maffioli and others.
At the beginning of September this year, one such evening was held in Florence, and right after it, on October 26, a charity dinner was held at the Lafayette Cuisine Cabaret Club in Belgrade.
Lafayette and 15 Michelin Star chefs from Europe prepared a VIP dinner for the occasion presented 10 prestigious dishes carefully paired with Italian wines, and the most important all that was integrated in rich and spectacular theater show.. All proceeds from the dinner is intended for charitable purposes for the Center for accommodation and daycare for children and youth with development disabilities.
The dinner was prepared by Michelin chefs with 3, 2 and 1 stars, who managed to gather Ljubica Komlenic, our most famous gastronome and judge at world competitions. Among these chefs, there were Massimiliano Alajmo, Chicco Cere, Gennaro Esposito, Philippe Leveille, while the Massari family, led by Inginio and Deborah, was in charge of desserts.
The Lafayette charity evening was attended by a large number of famous domestic and foreign personalities who participated in the auction of items of our famous athletes Novak Djokovic and Sinisa Mihajlovic, during which 51,000e were collected.
