Reality star Ms. Juicy Baby of Lifetime’s “Little Women: Atlanta” has officially been discharged from the hospital following a stroke she suffered in late April.
“I am not at 100%, but I am still healing,” the TV and radio personality, whose real name is Shirlene Pearson, began on Instagram Saturday before summarizing her terrifying ordeal and confirming she suffered a stroke.
“I want to say thank you for all of the love and support … and I appreciate y’all being concerned,” she went on.
Juicy, 50, specified that the type of stroke she had “entailed a brain bleed,” which “can cause different things for different people,” before detailing the daunting toll it took on her basic motor functions and cognitive abilities.
“I had to learn how to walk, learn how to talk, learn how to eat, learn how to swallow,” she said, mentioning that she’s currently still going to speech therapy.
“I can’t even really say ‘Ms. Juicy Baby’ the way I usually say it,” she added, sadly.
In the course of receiving well-wishes from her fans, “A lot of people reminded me I’m a fighter. I appreciate it,” she shared.
She also spoke of her family assisting her once she was released from the ICU.
“My mom and my sister, both, they stopped their everyday lives to come here and help me out, so I can get better and tend to my everyday life,” the reality star described. “So again, I want to thank y’all, but I also want to thank them too.”
She also explained, “I haven’t been able to work. So there’s no money coming in,” before highlighting the link to a GoFundMe her sister launched earlier this month to help cover Juicy’s medical costs
“As you can see, I’m not dead. I’m right here. It might have slowed me down, but I’m here, and I’ll be back at 100% when the time is right,” she went on. “But I can’t push it and I can’t rush it.”
“This right here, this is not me” she concluded, her voice cracking. “I can’t stay this way too long y’all. So keep praying. We’ll be back real soon. Love you and thank you.”
