Hawks vs Nets Injury Report: Trae Young, D’Angelo Russell Status Released
The Atlanta Hawks and Brooklyn Nets have released injury reports for their Thursday night matchup. The two teams are in the bottom half of the Eastern Conference standings, with the Hawks fighting with the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat for the 8th seed and second spot in the play-in tournament.

The Nets are all the way down at 12th with a 26-53 record. The Nets are essentially locked into the 12th spot with the closest team being the Philadelphia 76ers, who are two-and-a-half games behind them.
For tonight’s matchup, some players are still out for the season for the Hawks, including Kobe Bufkin, Jalen Johnson, and Larry Nance Jr. Clint Capela has been ruled out with a hand injury, while the most important player to watch, Trae Young, is currently probable with an achilles injury.
Young has been dealing with a nagging achilles tendinitis for a long stretch of the season, but despite that, he has played in 74 games this season. He has been consistently labeled as probable lately, but still played, and it seems that trend will continue in what is a key game for playoff seeding.

For the Nets, they are still missing Cam Thomas, De’Anthony Melton, and Noah Clowney for the season. For the game tonight, they will be without Day’ron Sharpe (knee), Cam Johnson (back), and D’Angelo Russell (ankle).
The Nets overall didn’t have the highest expectations entering the season, but they have been held back by injuries, with Johnson, their leading scorer, and Russell each playing in less than 30 games.
As they have been for most of the season, the Nets will be shorthanded against what would already have been superior competition. Besides pride, the team has no real motivation to win the game tonight, meaning no reason to push anyone to play through injury.

It will be interesting to see how the game plays out, as the Hawks need to win to have a better chance of making it out of the play-in, while the Nets will be seeking to play spoiler.
The Hawks also are a bit banged up and would like to be as healthy as possible, but with three games left and being just 1.5 games above the tenth seed, they have limited room for error. That should mean they will be giving it their all tonight.
Beyond some already injured players out for the season and some who have already been ruled out, the only injury to keep an eye on heading into tonight’s matchup with the Hawks and the Nets is Trae Young and his ankle tendinitis.
