I played a key role in introducing innovations like desktop publishing and witnessed technologies like the iPhone, smartphones, tablets, and the Internet reshape the digital landscape. Yet, amid all these advancements, few innovations have arrived with the same transformative impact as generative AI.

As we enter early 2025, the shockwaves of generative AI continue to reverberate across industries, redefining productivity and revolutionizing the relationship between humans and machines. Unlike past technological shifts, the shock and awe of generative AI is not just a trend—it’s a monumental change altering the structure of our digital world.

The sheer economic potential of generative AI is staggering. According to recent estimates, this technology could contribute between $2.6 trillion and $4.4 trillion annually to the global economy across a wide range of industries. In fact, generative AI’s influence is felt in sectors like banking, high-tech, and life sciences. In banking alone, the technology could deliver an additional $200 billion to $340 billion annually, while retail and consumer goods could see a potential impact of $400 billion to $660 billion per year.
