Fat Rosie’s in Naperville Expands with a NEW Location
Scott Harris Hospitality moves famed taco and tequila bar to a bigger location with more offerings, new design and superior customer experience
Naperville, IL (RestaurantNews.com) Today, Scott Harris Hospitality, parent company of Fat Rosie’s, moves its beloved taco and tequila bar across the street in Naperville to provide a larger restaurant and more offerings for its customers. Now located at 22 E. Chicago Avenue, Suite 111 Naperville, IL 60540, Fat Rosie’s is a hip and festive family-friendly Mexican Taqueria, with a modern take on traditional Mexican cuisine and craft cocktails. Fat Rosie’s has been serving the Naperville community for the past four years and has three additional locations in Frankfort, Lincolnshire and Schaumburg, IL.
The new 8,500 square foot Fat Rosie’s location – almost 3x the size of the previous location – will transport you to Mexico with its traditional and unique décor, bringing in elements directly from Mexico like alebrijes – hand-painted, brightly colored Mexican folk art of animals, an authentic thatched roof palapa, and custom art throughout the restaurant. The Scott Harris personality is incorporated throughout the restaurant for a memorable experience.
The new location will provide all of the delicious offerings that has made Fat Rosie’s a destination throughout the Chicago suburbs with their authentic antojitos (appetizers), platos (lunch and dinner plates), tacos, tamales, and their notorious el patron gordo burrito. New offerings available at the Naperville Fat Rosie’s location is their Ensenda Bar, proving that “en el mar, la vida es mas sabrosa” (“in the sea, life is tastier”). Customers will find Consome de Camaron, Cachetona de Pulpo y Camarón, Ensenada san Quintín, Oysters, Botana Fat Rosie ‘s Mariscos y Ceviche de Dia. Fat Rosie’s provides a full bar, along with specialty cocktails.
“Naperville has always been a special place to me, opening my second restaurant here nearly 30 years ago,” said Scott Harris, Founder and CEO of Scott Harris Hospitality. “We introduced an authentic and fun Mexican experience to the community with Fat Rosie’s four years ago, and we have loved every minute of it. We’re excited for Fat Rosie’s to be in a bigger location, so we can have even more fun.”
The new Naperville Fat Rosie’s location opens its doors on December 15, but will have its official Grand Opening Fiesta on January 12, 2023, beginning at 4 pm with a celebratory ribbon cutting, food and drink specials, entertainment, giveaways and more.

More About Fat Rosie’s
It’s a tequila bar, it’s a taqueria, it’s a family-friendly place to enjoy Scott Harris’ modern take on Mexican street food, but most of all, it’s an homage to an old agave farmer’s faithful donkey.
Chef Scott Harris went to Mexico looking for inspiration to create a new Mexican restaurant he was planning to open in Naperville, IL. He found it on a rural agave farm in the form of a donkey named Fat Rosie that had been working the farm fields for more than 20 years. The agave farmer treated Fat Rosie as part of his family – after all, they had worked in the fields together for a very long time. Scott admired the relationship so much he decided that Fat Rosie’s should be the name of his new taco and tequila bar. To learn more visit fatrosies.com.
