NBC News ‘Journo’ Turns Petulant Bully After She’s Criticized for ‘Lazy’ Reporting of FEMA/Trump Scandal

Hoo boy, the “reporters” over at NBC News are having a normal one.

This time around, the so-called journalist in question is one Mirna Alsharif; before we dig in, here’s her bio:

I am a reporter who covers domestic and international news, including war, crime and large-scale natural disasters to the latest celebrity scandal. I’m also passionate about reporting on race and religion, mainly the marginalization of minority communities in the U.S.

So, there’s that.

Anyway, Alsharif half-heartedly attempted to cover the brewing FEMA scandal, a story that The Daily Wire broke on Friday. As RedState’s Ward Clark reported of the scandal,

It seems that a FEMA supervisor in charge of the recovery workers in Lake Placid, Florida, ordered them as a “best practice” to skip houses with Trump signs, per a Daily Wire exclusive:

A federal disaster relief official ordered workers to bypass the homes of Donald Trump’s supporters as they surveyed damage caused by Hurricane Milton in Florida, according to internal correspondence obtained by The Daily Wire and confirmed by multiple federal employees.

A FEMA supervisor told workers in a message to “avoid homes advertising Trump” as they canvassed Lake Placid, Florida to identify residents who could qualify for federal aid, internal messages viewed by The Daily Wire reveal. The supervisor, Marn’i Washington, relayed this message both verbally and in a group chat used by the relief team, multiple government employees told The Daily Wire.

This story is a big deal to everyone but the Democrat shills employed by the corporate media. NBC News’ Alsharif knew it was her job to downplay the seriousness of the story, an undertaking she took on with pride. She left out key details, like the employee’s name, and failed to acknowledge the original reporting done by Daily Wire.

This story by @mirna_alsharif (pronouns in bio) for @NBCNews is painfully lazy and bad

Notes that a FEMA employee was fired, but then acts like it’s a complete mystery what actually happened. No idea who did it, what they did. Only mainstream outlet not to link the actual story. pic.twitter.com/v40NJD3FdP

This is when Alsharif shook off her questionable mantle of “journalist” and assumed the role of petulant playground bully.

Her response to the criticism that her report was “lazy” and “bad”? To proudly flaunt the fact that she failed to abide by journalistic standards through her failure to link back to Daily Wire’s original story.

Real mature stuff there.

It gets worse. When other X/Twitter users called out Alsharif’s poor reporting, she doubled down on the nastiness.

There are apparently no grownups left in network newsrooms.

She just couldn’t let it go.

Then there’s this:

We can’t link to Mirna Alsharif’s account because, you guessed it, she deleted it. It went “Plouffe!”

She could have just updated her story with a link… pic.twitter.com/K8Xc3r7jVx

We’d like to think that Alsharif took some time for some mature self-reflection and realized she came off like an embarrassingly unprofessional brat. It’s more likely that she recognized, a few beats too late, that her bosses and all of the world could see her spiteful wrath in black and white. She took the cowardly way out, which was to be expected.

It’s a strange new world we find ourselves in as Donald Trump makes his way back to the White House. Expect the tantrums to continue apace and the further disintegration of the media, as embodied by Mirna Alsharif.
