5 Best Moments From Red Bull Culture Clash Atlanta
Atlanta’s cultural melting pot simmers with homegrown flavor from various parts of the globe. This includes Africa to the Caribbean Islands, to Latin America and beyond.
The city’s breadth of sounds and styles were put on full display during the Red Bull Culture Clash Atlanta, as four of the hottest DJ crews in the A presented a smorgasbord of vibes that left attendees clamoring for more. Attendees descended upon Atlanta’s Gateway Center Arena on a brisk Saturday evening, where the floor had been converted to hold four separate stages on which the respective crews would musically clash during a succession of individual sets by each group.
Participants included Bama Tuesdays, Mashup Sessions, Rum Punch Brunch, and Perreo404, with each party crew presenting a contrast of styles that resonated with a segment of the crowd. Returning to Atlanta for the first time in five years, Red Bull Culture Clash put the focus not only on the talent, but the fans.
Props such as foam fingers signifying one’s allegiance or support of each particular crew were readily available and visible throughout the building. Red Bull cocktails and other beverages helped keep the crowd juiced, while tasty treats were readily available via vendors in the building.
The crowd’s engagement was also significant in the ultimate outcome, as their noise levels and vocal response to each crew’s individual sets determined the winner of the four-round clash. This year’s competition saw Rum Punch Bunch take home the victory, with the collective securing the custom-made trophy.
Having been fortunate enough to witness the competition in live time, VIBE looks back at five of the most explosive moments from Red Bull’s Culture Clash Atlanta that had us partying the night away.
