NEW ORLEANS — The Distance Education Accrediting Commission, which accredited NationsUniversity initially in 2015, has renewed the institution’s accreditation through June 2028. DEAC is a national accrediting body that holds the same standing with the U.S. Government as the regional commissions. Most regionally-accredited bodies focus primarily on campus-based programs, while DEAC gives major attention to distance learning programs.
Nations University recently received authorization from the Tennessee Higher Education Commission to operate in the State of Tennessee. This is in addition to the university’s authorization in the State of Louisiana by the Louisiana Board of Regents.
NationsUniversity was founded in 1996 by Richard Ady and Mac Lynn to serve the interests of those who were seeking advanced training in Scripture but who could not afford to come to America or to pay expensive tuition. Since its founding, some 36,000 students have received education through the university. Presently, the institution maintains an annual enrollment of approximately 1,500 students in over 100 countries, 250 of whom are incarcerated in the U.S. All its programs are in religious studies. Awards offered include a Certificate in Biblical Studies, a Certificate in Christian Ministry, a Bachelor of Religious Studies, a Graduate Certificate in Biblical Studies, the Master of Theological Studies, and the Master of Divinity.
